Homelessness Prevention Program
The EQUIP program provides rent subsidies to families who are on the verge of eviction due to a one-time financial crisis. Families with a previous history of financial stability can receive monetary 
assistance for rent preventing the devastation of homelessness and keeping the family stable.
Key components of the program’s success are early identification, professional assessment, and immediate intervention. A professional case manager provides additional support and accountability to the family.
EQUIP’s mentoring component complements the subsidy by teaching financial, career, and family management skills to prevent future set-backs. Partner churches and organizations recruit volunteer mentors to work with families for 3-6 months.
EQUIP typically serves around 100 families per year in the greater Dallas area.
