Home and Hope
Employment Mentors | Tuesday or Thursday from 7:00-9:00pm
Working in a pair, volunteer teams meet weekly with residents, building a relationship and mentoring them in how to secure and retain employment, interviewing, and soft employment skills.
Financial Mentors | Tuesday or Thursday from 7:00-9:00pm
Working in a pair, volunteer teams meet weekly with residents to mentor them on how to maintain a family budget, reduce debt and build savings. Help families plan how to fund housing upon graduation.
Good Neighbor | Flexible
Build relationships with resident families by providing encouragement, writing notes, sending birthday and holiday cards, etc.
New Home Coordinator | Flexible
Prepare an apartment for a new family—stock the pantry, decorate the apartment, pick out toys for the children to snuggle with on their first night in their new, stable home!
Welcome Home Casserole Committee | Flexible
Provide a hot meal for our families’ first night in their apartment. Assemble and freeze a meal to be reheated upon the family's arrival and help welcome them to a new life!
Children’s Program
Children’s Area Champion | After School (M-F), Weekday Evenings (T & Th), Summer Days (M-F).
Help develop children’s character, optimism, and self-worth through fun activities such as learning multiplication while jump roping or knitting to calm and encourage brain development
Children’s Tutors | Daily or Weekly one-hour segments from 3:30-6:30pm.
Work one-on-one on children’s homework and problem areas.
Children’s Dinner Host | Tuesday and/or Thursday nights
Provide a healthy and nutritious meal for IHC’s Children Area while parents are involved in parenting and life skills training.
Green Thumb Gardeners | Flexible
Beautify our Organic Garden on your own or alongside IHC’s Children’s Area, providing our children with a place to learn about nature, science, patience, and healthy eating.
Teens Program
Tutors | Daily or Weekly, one-hour segments from 4:00-7:00pm
Work one-on-one with our teens on their homework or a problem area.
General Needs
Friendly Place, Smiling Face | Flexible, weekdays
Volunteer at IHC’s front desk and be the first friendly face for guests of Interfaith. Assist us by answering the phone, greeting guests and families interested in our program, and various other administrative duties.
On-Call Angels | On-call basis, highest needs on weekdays and weeknights
Receive emails when we have a special need for volunteers! Mentoring, receptionist, children’s area, special events…the possibilities are endless!
Group Opportunities
Organize the professional clothing closet
Sort donated household items and clothing
Prepare an apartment for an incoming family
Landscape/ beautify facilities and play areas
Organize a field trip or party for the children’s area
Start a donation drive for career apparel, toys, school supplies, gift cards, or other household items.
Put on an ice cream social, cook-out, or other party for the families at IHC
